Author’s Talk

A session on story telling regarding an important life skill – ’empathy’ was conducted. We had the opportunity to host Ms Shylaja Venkateswaran, who is a Chartered Accountant by profession and an enthusiastic storyteller by passion. The gatherings of grades 3 and 4 were very well engaged by the excellent storytelling skills of the host. Along with the story, students were also guided to build stories of their own. The session was engaging and it met the purpose.

The students of Grade 4&5 had a unique encounter with acclaimed children’s author Ms. Bijal Vachharajani. Known for her environmental-themed stories, Ms. Vachharajani sparked a captivating journey into fantasy while instilling a profound appreciation for the environment. Her interactive session not only shared the magic of storytelling but also inspired students to foster a love for reading and ignited their imagination for creative writing.

While grade 4 and 5 had the opportunity to meet the author, a team of students from Grade 6 to 8, had the opportunity to engage with Ms. Reema Swarge, in an online writers’ workshop conducted exclusively for the school by Freedom App. It was an interesting session for the kids as they were introduced to aspects of theatre and movie production, with vivid comparisons between the two realms.
