Curriculum

The educational curriculum at Delhi Public School Bangalore West aligns closely with the needs and demands of the 21st century, adhering to the standards set forth by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). The school fosters a culture of active learning, encouraging students to engage in reflection, connect with their surroundings, and actively participate in the creation and construction of knowledge. Additionally, the school offers support through trained counsellors and special educators who provide guidance and assistance for emotional, behavioural, and learning challenges.
Children at our school are encouraged to think laterally and critically, identifying opportunities to challenge their potential and embrace new ideas. Through various practices, they are actively engaged in promoting their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development and well-being. Moreover, they connect diverse areas of knowledge, application, and values with their personal lives and the broader world. By transacting the curriculum in a holistic manner, we aim to cultivate well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also equipped to be responsible and contributing citizens.
Our curriculum is meticulously crafted to impart age-appropriate knowledge while fostering transversal skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, leadership, confidence, and emotional and social well-being. We employ effective strategies to achieve these goals, with a particular emphasis on experiential learning, project-based learning, and instilling a growth mind set. Throughout the academic year, students undergo formative and summative assessments, including project works and creative assignments, which are conducted in both terms. Our assessment system is designed to take a holistic approach to evaluating students’ development, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their progress.
Apart from academics, our school places a strong emphasis on nurturing the overall development of our students. This is achieved through a wide range of activities including yoga, taekwondo, music, art and craft, and physical education. We also organize educational trips and excursions regularly to ensure that learning is both enjoyable and meaningful. These activities are instrumental in fostering a holistic approach towards building a positive self-image in our students, enhancing their skills and attitudes along the way.
